Are Braces the Right Solution?
Many times, especially in younger patients, all that is needed is time and regular visits to BluePointe Dental.
While it is true that many children need to get braces for crooked teeth, crowded teeth, and overbites, many children just need to continue to grow.
As a child grows, the structure of the jaw bone will change and often times room will naturally be made for the crowded or crooked teeth. Overbites will even correct themselves to some degree.
If dental braces are needed to correct Jaw Position or misaligned jaw joints, you can count on the experience, qualifications, and expertise of the orthodontists at BluePointe Dental.
Options for Braces
Colored, Clear, Damon, Invisalign, or Traditional
What Are My Options for Braces?
Whether you or your child needs braces, we know that you want options. We also know that you have questions and that you want to be well informed to make sure that you get the best care for you and your family. We have many options to choose from and our orthodontists would be happy to help you find the best option for you.
Traditional Metal Braces
Traditional metal braces consist of brackets that attach to the back or front of the teeth in most cases. Then wires and elastic bands are used to connect the brackets and adjust your smile. This style of braces is most commonly popular among teenagers, but many adults choose this option as well.
These braces still have wires and brackets along with vibrant colorful elastic bands, but this option may shorten your treatment time as they self adjust more and in many cases allow your smile to align much sooner.
Invisible (Clear) Braces
These braces have no wire, band, or brackets and are for the most part completely invisible. Instead of having them installed, your orthodontist will take impressions of your teeth to make special plastic trays that will fit over your teeth. You will wear these trays every day until your orthodontist instructs you to change to the next tray. Treatment can take anywhere from 6 to 12 months and these braces are most popular among adults.

What’s involved in the process of getting dental braces?
When you first schedule your appointment, the dentist will provide a thorough teeth cleaning. Once your teeth are clean, an orthodontist will take impressions of your teeth.
With the impressions of your teeth made, the dentist can begin gluing on the brackets for the braces that will help give you the perfect smile.
The final process involves placing the wires on the brackets and securing them in place with elastic bands that will provide the tension to adjust your teeth.
- Cleaning of The Teeth
- Impressions of Your Teeth
- Gluing on the Brackets
- Placing the Wires
- Finally the Wires Are Secured With Elastic Bands
